Grandma Gula's Chocolate Cake

It's a lot like black magic.

Ingredients

• 1/2 c shortening
• 2 c sugar
• 6 heaping tbls cocoa
• 3 eggs
• 2-1/2 c flour
• 2 c buttermilk
• 2 tsp soda
• 2 tsp vanilla

Recipe

Cream shortening and sugar. Add cocoa and beat. Add eggs and beat (by hand) well. Add flour and soda alternately with buttermilk. Add vanilla.

Pour batter into a greased + floured 9x13 pan.

Bake at 350° 35-40 min.
