Oatmeal Cookies

My great grandpa Joe (Gula) loved these. This recipe had special meaning to my grandpa, as it was the very first thing he ever cooked when he was 8 yrs old.

Ingredients

• 1 c rasins
• 1/2 c chopped nuts
• 1-1/2 c flour
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 1/2 tsp nutmeg
• 1/2 c butter
• 1 c sugar
• 1 egg
• 2/3 c buttermilk
• 1-1/2 c oats

Recipe

Sift flour with next 4 ingredients.

Cream butter till shiny and add sugar in 2 portions and cream.

Beat in egg until fluffy and flour and buttermilk alternately in 2-3 portions.

Add oats, rasins, and nuts.

Bake 7-10 min at 400°.
